4x6 Douglas Fir Timber – Rough Sawn
Our 4x6 Rough Sawn Douglas Fir Timber offers the strength of structural-grade softwood with a rugged, natural texture. Each timber is milled to retain its resawn surface on all four sides, providing a time-tested aesthetic suitable for rustic and architectural applications.
This material is ideal for projects where visual texture is part of the design—whether used structurally or decoratively. Known for its strength-to-weight ratio, Douglas Fir is well-suited for load-bearing uses and offers excellent screw and nail holding capability.
Applications: Commonly used for porch posts, timber framing, pergolas, beam work, and outdoor structures where exposed wood is part of the architectural expression.
Size Note: The nominal size is 4x6. The actual finished size is 3 1/2" x 5 1/2", with a tolerance of ±1/16". As a rough sawn product, surface variation and saw marks are part of its character.
Appearance Note: No sanding, filling, or edge easing is performed. Minor surface imperfections and natural wood variations are expected. Finish sanding and sealing may be applied on-site based on the intended final use.
