4x8 Western Red Cedar Timber – True Rough (TR)
Our TR finish retains the original surface and full thickness of the timber as it comes from the sawmill, preserving the rugged character and deep texture of natural wood. This finish showcases visible saw marks and uneven surfaces, ideal for projects where authentic, raw timber appearance is desired.
TR – True Rough timbers are not resawn or planed, resulting in a more organic, less refined form that may include minor inconsistencies in shape and squareness.
This finish is perfect for rustic architectural features, outdoor structures, or design applications where character and texture are more important than uniformity.
Size Note: In this finish, the nominal and actual dimensions are closer than in other finishes. For example, 4x8 timbers typically measure close to 4" x 8"; however, due to the irregular surface and lack of final planing, exact sizing may vary slightly. Squareness and surface flatness are not guaranteed.
Appearance Note: No surfacing, filling, or repairs are performed. This finish highlights the natural state of the timber, including its imperfections and variations.
