The ABU66Z galvanized adjustable post base is a high-capacity connector designed to secure 6x6 posts to existing concrete surfaces in decks, patios, and structural applications. Featuring a 1″ standoff, this base helps protect against rot by elevating the post above moisture-prone surfaces.
Its slotted anchor hole allows for precise lateral adjustment, and it installs easily using nails, Strong-Drive® SD Connector screws, or bolts. The ABU66Z meets code requirements for posts exposed to weather or splash and is engineered to perform under high uplift loads—ideal for regions with seismic or wind concerns.
Manufacturing Notes: Part of the Simpson Strong-Tie ABU series, this adjustable post base is designed for maximum uplift performance and long-term durability. ZMAX® galvanized coating adds extra protection in outdoor or wet applications.
